1998 Stones throw records caught em live & put out first thee raw funky soul single "getcho soul togetha" hailing in the neo funk movement around the globe.
2001 stones throw releases The Live mix pt.2, a true representation of their live hip hop breaks/funky soul homage show.

Breakestra soon
after makes it's live debut accross the planet including japan.Late 2005 Ubiquity records releases Miles & Wolf's first all original recording called "hit the floor" featuring the live rap track with Chali 2na, Soup & Double K recalling the first disco funk hip hop records of the late 70's.

Again Breakestra travels the planet soul travellin' & spreading the funk gospel this time going to Australia for the first time with guest vocalist hip hop soul diva Choklate helping miles out front in Wolf's place. In April of 2006 Miles' good friend & dj brother from The legendary L.A. Rootdown party, Tarek" Dj Dusk " Captan is tragically killed by a drunk driver.

Breakestra spends the rest of the year touring as well as some of 2007. back at home in late 2007, Inspired by Dusk's spirit & eternal energy Miles & Wolf begin some work on new material.following a show in LA where Wolf's unique dance is imitated by a front row of fun, funky ladies, "the lowdown stank" is born.
The "lowdown" single comes out in 2008 on Egon's Now Again stones throw imprint label.

By early 2009 & whole lot of Miles being locked in the studio building tracks one overdub at a time There's enough tracks to build an album.Eventually they partner up with Strut/k7 records to release the forth coming & second all original funk/soul/jazz panorama "Dusk till Dawn" comes out in september 2009 featuring a track with a dope Dj Dusk rhyme.

La Misa Negra (Live Cumbia!)
La Misa Negra (Live Cumbia!)
La Misa Negra is an 8-piece band from Oakland, CA that plays a unique blend of 1950's and 60's style Cumbia and high-energy, Afro-Colombian dance music. Powered by horn and accordion-driven riffs, a raucous rhythm section and a vintage Colombian sound, La Misa Negra delivers a killer, live show that explodes with infectious dance grooves and punk rock energy. Since their live debut in the fall of 2011, La Misa Negra has toured extensively throughout California, playing shows and festivals with Celso Piña, Nortec Collective, La Santa Cecilia, Chico Trujillo, Sergent Garcia, Breakestra, Very Be Careful, B-Side Players, Souls of MIschief, Jarabe de Palo and many others. On the strength of their unique sound and wild shows, La Misa Negra has quickly gained a reputation as one of the Bay Area's most exciting live bands and, in the process, is on their way to building a diverse fan base that transcends musical, cultural and generational divides. Their debut album, Misa de Medianoche, is slated for a September 2013 release.
DJ Crimson
DJ Crimson
Crimson is one of those DJs. If you’re out at the club and this guy takes over on the turntables, you better hope you’re not stuck in the bathroom line. Forget it. Hold it. Don’t even check your hair on your way out, ‘cause the steam on that dance floor is gonna turn it into a hot mess anyway. And who cares? Mutherfuckin Crimson is DJing.

Let me break it down for you. Homeboy cut his teeth back in the day as a teen playing everything from backyard barbecues to gangsta parties to school events––really, any type of gig he could hustle––in southern California. With that experience (along with stacks of one-take mixtapes for the cuties in study hall), Crimson was already ready for any crowd, any place. And that was before he began earning respect as a battle DJ, before he helped pioneer DJing programs for college kids in Berkeley and youths in Oakland, and before he moved to New York to spin alongside legends like Evil Dee (Black Moon), Hard Hittin’ Harry (The Fugees) and DJ OBaH (Giant Step). He might never have left NYC. I mean, a soulful battle DJ groomed in the land of Beat Junkies… in that scratch-drop mecca?! Kismet. Plus, record spots like Beat Street beckoned pretty much all day err’ day. But those of us back here on the Left Coast knew that––with those seamless blends and 808 sensibilities––this down-ass ginger would be back.

And guess who heaved his redonkulous record collection back home to California in 2004. Yer boy.

What better way to mark his return to the Yay than to team up with a group of veteran DJs under the moniker Bay Area Record Rockers. Alongside his crew, Crimson has been tearing clubs down, reminding us all––with his wide array of hip-hop, soul, funk, breaks, classics, and reggae cuts––of the meanest and cleanest DJs who have held down the Bay scene. (Think Fuze. Derrick D. Mike Nice.) And, as if that weren’t enough, Crimson’s been busy producing tracks. Real. Sexy. Tracks. No wonder the duo called The Dime, with baritone lyricist Chioke and silky crooner K.nightshift, have brought him on board as a beatmaker and the official DJ for their live shows. In exchange, The Dime often graces the stage at Crimson’s own events, turning a regular club night into a full-blown extravaganza. With guest DJs and a smorgasbord of live musicians, they’ve been a vital part of downtown Oakland’s nightlife renaissance. Talk about kismet.

So if you didn’t know, now you know. And you know what, now your hair is hella messed up. Not cute. Also, the walls appear to be… sweating? But you feel so got-dayum good. Know why? Crimson is DJing.
