As a band, Six60 originally formed in Dunedin, New Zealand in 2008. Inspired by the vibrant culture of soul, rock and bass heavy electronica that defined late 2000s student life down south, they began jamming out at their infamous flat, 660 Castle Street. Bedroom practices quickly became small living room concerts for friends and family, which lead them to playing flat-warming's, parties and eventually local bars.

Pressured into recording a demo EP by friends and family, they sold their music online through their website and setup some fan pages on various online social networks. As word about their high-octane live shows, and copies of their songs spread around New Zealand and Australia, they were rewarded with a burgeoning fan base.

Sitting at over 145,000 fans on Facebook, Six60 now have to their credit, two double platinum selling singles 'Rise Up 2.0' and 'Don't Forget Your Roots', two platinum selling singles ‘Only To Be’ and ‘Forever’ and a triple platinum Number One debut album. At this year’s NZ Music Awards they were the big winners on the night with 6 awards including Best Group, Single of the Year, Peoples Choice and Highest Selling Album. Their album is still in the NZ Top 10 Album charts 65 weeks after release.

Live is where they are in their element – only this summer they played to over 16,500 fans in just 7 dates as well as key summer festivals such as La De Da, Rhythm and Vines, Splore, Homegrown and Big Day Out. Six60 have built a strong, robust audience overseas - in Australia they are now playing 1,500 – 2,000 plus venues, they recently sold out 3 shows in London to over 3,000 people, 2500 people on their
first Europe tour, and sold out 5 of their 9 shows in USA/Canada.

Their first foray into the USA saw their single ‘Forever’ used on an Indie 500 story screened on ESPN and ABC and their music added to over 120 College Radio stations. In January this year ESPN used ‘Run For It’ for various sports programs.
They are returning to USA in March to play at SXSW and Canada to play at Canadian Music Week.

Blending soul, rock, dubstep and drum and bass, their music is as dynamic, versatile and unexpected as their back story. Extended singer/songwriter jams incorporate dubstep sections as bridges, hard rocking guitar work duels with robust synthetics and thunderous low end bass over vibrant percussive rhythms, and in both voice and instrumentation infectious melody consistently shines through. Six60 – bringing it to you live and massive!

‘Six60 plan to rock you into a new here and now……High in torque and riding well at low RPM, this is a sublime record that deserves full attention’
Brisbane Times

“Blending rock with dubstep and other electronic sounds du jour. “Forever" reveals the group’s soulful side and innovative combination of musical styles.”

DJ Daneekah
Of Australian origin, Daneekah's dj career began in Melbourne, Australia in 2003. With a passion for collecting vinyl and an obsession with the heavy basslines of dancehall and reggae music she began tag-teaming at various reggae and dancehall nights. This immediately led to other gigs, and also to the beginning of her first weekly in a country where reggae and dancehall audiences were small but quickly growing, in true underground style. Daneekah went on to perform numerous times alongside well known Melbourne dj crews whilst also appearing on national radio shows RRR and PBS. In early 2004, she released her first mixtape, entitled "Dancehall Queens". This reggae and dancehall mix was 100% female artists, a refreshing change to a genre almost entirely dominated by men. During her time in Australia, Daneekah brought the feminine fire while touring in all the major cities of Australia.
In 2005, she made the long awaited move to San Francisco, CA. 2006 saw the release of another mixtape, "Dancehall 101", a mix of old and new dancehall mashed with hip hop riddims. Daneekah held a Thursday night residency at the Tunnel Top in San Francisco, where she spun alongside weekly guests. In San Francisco, she has played at almost every reggae/dancehall party in the bay, including venues such as The Independent, Club Six, Mezzanine, 111 Minna and the San Francisco Jazz Festival 2008.
After travelling to Jamaica in 2006, Daneekah started her collection of dubplates for her soundsystem. Although a big fan of the roots and culture, Daneekah consistently delivers the best of old to the new dancehall, specializing in bringing audiences the latest Jamaican dancehall and hip hop remixes. In 2007 Daneekah linked with local female reggae selector, DJ Green B. With a shared passion for the latest reggae and dancehall, the duo linked to form California's only all female sound, named the "Coo-Yah Ladeez." Daneekah & GreenB can be found every Wednesday at their ever expanding weekly event, "Cooyah" at Som Bar in San Francisco. The Cooyah Ladeez weekly party has been growing non-stop since its conception over 3 years ago, and as the only all female run dance in San Francisco and California, has become a force to be wreckoned with.
The Coo-Yah Ladeez have hosted 3 dancehall queen competitions, staged performances by Delly Ranx(who shot his music video for his hit single "Wish Good" at the event), Gappy Ranks, Romain Virgo, Chukki Starr & Mr Easy. In addition to their weekly event, the Coo-Yah Ladeez have opened for almost every reggae artist that comes to San Francisco. These artists include Capleton, Beenie Man, Ce'cile, Konshens, Israel Vibration, Dezarie, Pato Banton, Katchafire, Chezidek, Junior Reid, Pressure, TOK, Turbulence, Kymani Marley, Sister Nancy, Gentleman, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica, Marcia Griffiths, Million Stylez, Chino, Laden, Luciano, ASWAD, The Original Wailers & many more. In 2009 the Coo-yah Ladeez were booked as the official deejays for Reggae Rising & Outside Lands which both drew crowds in the tens of thousands. The Coo-Yah ladeez can be found at this years Reggae on the River 2011 festival in California, as well as all around California and the USA.
In 2010 Daneekah was booked internationally, jetsetting to exotic locations such as Malaysia & New Caledonia to share the reggae dancehall vibes. In February 2011, she was hired to work as a dj on the reality tv show the "Sea Angels". This included radio work, dj'ing on camera, and also dj'ing locally in clubs in the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. These days Daneekah accepts bookings for reggae, dancehall, soca, african and hip hop parties, and plans to continue travelling the globe spreading the positive musical message. With her colorful swag & fun loving party vibes, big tings a gwaan cos ladeez run di bizness....
