Saint Motel

The explosive, cinematic, hard-pop band Saint Motel is, to put it best, hard to resist, and damn fun. In the world of Saint Motel, nothing bows to convention: Stages become forests and living rooms, and shows become kaleidoscopic mind explosions in 3D. This theatrically creative world is due in large part to the fact that the gentlemen of Saint Motel formed in film school. The band's keen visual sensibility has yielded an array of stunningly original videos that accompany songs from their recently released debut EP ForPlay, released via the band's label On The Records, and the physical or digital version of ForPlay includes the free added bonus of the beautiful, ultra-conceptualized videos for each song.
Saint Motel is A/J Jackson (vocals, guitar), A Sharp (lead guitar), Greg Erwin (drums) and Dak (bass) – musicians who constantly experiment and push boundaries within the songwriting process to keep evolving their signature sound that features unique guitar tones and surprising sonic twists throughout.
The raw energy apparent in Saint Motel's music is felt at a new level when experiencing them live. The band's live shows are marked by this effusive energy and the spectacle of exciting visual soundscapes that blend the sonic with the artful. Jackson explains, "People want to be entertained when they go out to see a show so we try to offer not only an energetic performance but also a memorable experience." Metromix agrees, stating that "Saint Motel never fail to put on a show that's a treat for the senses" and The Onion claims "Saint Motel has a...particular blend of wholesome indie rock brimming with raucous sexual energy," while Flavorpill declares the band "Imploring, atonal, and irresistible garage glam."

The Hundred Days

"Experiencing The Hundred Days live was one of those reminders that the world is a really beautiful place." --SF Examiner
"The Hundred Days are an absolute must-see." --The Owlmag
San Francisco's smartest new young band, The Hundred Days, have released the second single and video off their debut album, Really? The video for "Girl At a Party", directed by David Dutton, is a raucous, fun-filled romp through a gigantic bash with a gorgeous lady as your guide. Magnetic Magazine exclusively premiered the video for the month of August.
Really? is the latest project from the production team of Michael Patterson (Beck, Ladytron, She Wants Revenge) and Nic Jodoin(GreatNorthern). With driving rhythms, soaring guitars, textural keyboards and powerful vocal melodies, The Hundred Days push indie/alt rock in new directions. Drawing from a variety of influences (postpunk, alternative, britpop), the band's familiar, yet intrinsically unique sound has been compared to The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Radiohead as well as contemporary rockers Franz Ferdinand, The Bravery and The Killers. A moody, dynamic indie rock band, The Hundred Days showcase tight musicianship complemented by razor-sharp pop writing capabilities with both sophistication and urgency.

Hotel Eden

"I feel that his works make the viewer want to be part of them," Kelly Warner says describing the work of Joseph Cornell, the withdrawn, New York City assemblage artist whose work inspired the name of Warner's music project, Hotel Eden. "Cornell was able to create elegant, compelling microcosms out of found pieces arranged in small shadowboxes, luring you in and inviting you to explore their tiny classrooms, galaxies or snowy forests he set in motion with bits of wire, paper and cork." It is no wonder that Kelly was drawn to this art, considering his own past: "back in college when my friends were out partying, I was in a basement apartment gluing bits of borrowed drums and synths and voices and strings together to create what I hoped would become magical little wonderlands of sound." And now with years of musical exploration under his belt, the producer/songwriter has honed his craft to be able to support the creative swell of songwriting that has produced a collection of poetic, genre-hopping songs that are due out in 2012.
As a one-man production team, Kelly writes, sings, plays and records his irreverent pop songs with a mix of vintage instruments and new technology in his home studio. With a background of well-worn white label electronica releases, this DJ/beatmaker/multi-instrumentalist was also one half of the visionary but now historic hip hop duo, The Lab Rats. Kelly and his Lab Rats band-mate were loved in part for replacing samples with original music that included beats, self-samples and live instrumentation. Song craft, live performance, recording, studio production and stylistic experimentation were just a few of the lessons Kelly learned in the lab. Moving through phases as any artist does, he takes from the past, but now more fully realizes live instrumentation in production and uses his own songwriting inspiration to create Cornell-like havens of beauty, chaos and solace.
In 2012 Kelly will release a full length album and tour for the first time with a full, live band in support. Although the recordings were created by Warner, Hotel Eden will no longer be just his project as his crack squad of complete badasses are warmed up, have adopted the songs as their own and are ready to bring you a show.
