One Less Guest

One Less Guest is Ren Cooper (Violin), Nick Muska (Guitar), Cody Thoreson (Drums) & Nick Glass (Bass). Drawing on a shared passion for funk, rock, jazz, & R’n’B their music features a prevailing love for the craft of songwriting, the groove, and each other. The band is currently based out of Anaheim, California.
One Less Guest formed in Duluth, Minnesota in 2018 & developed a quick rapport and following in the upper midwest. After playing nearly 200 dates together, the group saved up enough to self-release their first album, Monochrome, in April 2020. Despite it’s premiere coinciding with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the debut release did well; finding its way to a double digit spot on the North American College & Community radio charts & receiving consistent airplay from radio stations across the United States/Canada.
In the year following the album’s release, the band was presented with an opportunity to relocate to southern California. On May 20, 2021, they performed their Farewell Midwest show to a sold-out crowd and headed west. Since their move, One Less Guest has released an EP of covers, The Perch Sessions (2021), a live album, One Hot Night, Vol. 1 (2022), & a collaborative single with Minneapolis-based group, Beneath Green, titled Hi-Beams (2022). Hi-Beams was recently used in the trailer for “The Pool Boy” which will be released in select theaters later this year.
The band will finish recording their second full-length studio album of original material in winter 2023- with plans to release the project in May & tour to support in July of 2023.
