Wake The Wild

artist-img
Los Angeles, retro-futurist neon pop trio Wake The Wild meld the intoxicating grooves of 80s funk, the sensual colors of R&B, and the driving pulse of Chicago House, to create a sound at once timeless and very much of the moment. Building on a fifteen-year friendship, Chase Jackson (guitar, bass, mallet synths), Forrest Mitchell (drums, triggers, background vocals), and Zach Sorgen (vocals, keys) come together to craft a smooth, luxurious blend of rich textures, buttery synths, and fat basslines, all underpinned by tight, funky drum grooves. There’s a strong analog warmth—like everything was recorded to tape. It's a sexy, playful, and vibrant danceable experience.

Following the release of their debut EP Guilty Pleasures (2020), they gained traction from Spotify editorial playlists such as Butter, Young & Free, Serotonin, Nu-Funk, and Coffee Club, and have also landed synchs on Netflix, BET, ABC, ESPN, The CW, Hulu, Peacock NBC, TNT & MTV. True to their name, the live show is an unforgettable experience. With effortless mastery as multi-instrumentalists on drum set, double neck bass/guitar, synths and vocals, the band transports audiences to a dimension without inhibitions.

While the Wake The Wild project is a relatively new endeavor, the band bring considerable expertise to the table. Chase Jackson has produced, co-written and recorded instruments with Juice WRLD, The Soweto Gospel Choir, Chanté Moore, and Dimash Kudaibergen. He has composed music for myriad iconic video games and anime series. Forrest Mitchell has graced the stage at legendary jazz festivals including Montraux, Monterey, and Newport and venues like the Fonda, Troubadour, Sleep Train Pavilion, Chase Center and more.  Zach Sorgen worked with Charlie Puth and Ryan Tedder when he won the pilot episode of NBC’s Songland with his original song “Bad Habit.”  He has since penned RIAA Gold “Come First” by Terror Jr. and has excelled in the K-Pop space with “Peaches” by KAI and “Die Trying” by aespa and TOKiMONSTA.  In the Electronic world he has written songs with Tritonal, Sultan + Shepard, and DVBBS.

New EP Blink marks an evolution in the sound of Wake The Wild; while bringing their polished, radio-ready sound to new heights, they have simultaneously moved into deeper, richer emotional territory. While deeply personal, the stories they tell ring with universal relatability. All about inclusivity and good vibrations, Blink is ready to soundtrack your nocturnal adventures.
